Isn’t it lovely?  This is the Gypsy Enchantment Ring by FaerieKat.  Consider me captivated.

I came across this ring over a week ago, and I have gone back to look at it again so many times. The workmanship is clearly lovely, but what appeals to me even more is how perfectly the cabochon and the bezel work together.  They combine to make the ring look almost alive, like an eye about to blink.

This ring design is based on Emi Kaz’s Majestic Ring tutorial. On the gallery page for that tutorial we can see the same technique used to produce rings in a wide range of styles, from earthy to elegant to this, which I would call magical. This is a dramatic illustration of the wide range of effects that can be produced even within the same technique, just by altering the combination of materials.

By the way, the cabochon used here is a 1920s Bohemian peacock eye lampwork foil glass cabochon. I’m glad to see that after nearly a century it has found such a suitable home.
